Powder coating has become the dominant finishing method for fabricated metal products, offering superior durability, environmental compliance, and cost-effectiveness compared to liquid paint for most applications. The process applies dry polymer powder electrostatically, then cures it in an oven to form a tough, uniform coating. Powder coating is available in virtually unlimited colors, textures, and gloss levels. Standard polyester powders provide excellent outdoor durability and UV resistance. Epoxy powders offer superior chemical and corrosion resistance for industrial applications. Hybrid and specialty powders address specific performance requirements. When sourcing powder coating services, specify the required color (RAL, Pantone, or custom match), texture, gloss level, and film thickness. Discuss surface preparation requirements, as proper blast cleaning and pretreatment are critical for adhesion and corrosion performance. For large parts, verify the provider's oven and booth dimensions can accommodate your work.
