NADCAP Certified Companies
Aerospace special process accreditation for welding, heat treating, NDT, coatings, and chemical processing.
NADCAP (National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program) is a cooperative industry accreditation program that provides standardized special process audits for the aerospace and defense supply chain. Rather than each prime contractor auditing their suppliers individually, NADCAP provides a single, industry-accepted accreditation. Special processes are manufacturing operations where the quality of the output cannot be fully verified by inspection of the finished product alone. Welding, heat treating, chemical processing (plating, anodizing, passivation), non-destructive testing (NDT), coatings, and composites are key NADCAP-covered processes. Each process has its own detailed audit checklist developed by industry task groups. NADCAP accreditation requires the fabricator to pass a thorough on-site audit by a PRI (Performance Review Institute) auditor, resolve any findings, and maintain accreditation through periodic re-audits (typically 12-18 month intervals). Current NADCAP accreditation can be verified through the eAuditNet database. Many aerospace OEMs require NADCAP accreditation for special processes as a condition of doing business.
